To begin, hiring top-performing virtual employees that are trained and experienced helps to increase your business performance and revenue. It is important to know when hiring virtual workers, to treat it like any other legitimate hiring process. One of the benefits of hiring virtually is that you are able to source candidates globally rather than locally. Anne advises not to be afraid of hiring a remote expert. In any business, it is important to know your prime directive. What do you hope this business will accomplish? How will it be a contribution to the world? This prime directive should be the driving force behind any personnel hiring decisions. 

Tracking Remote Productivity

Productivity is much harder to enforce when having virtual employees, so Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are great tools to determine the value of a person’s role. This allows managers to compare one person’s performance against another objectively. A company with a clear prime directive will find this part of the virtual hiring process to be smooth and straightforward, as they have set clear goals. In order to help the productivity of virtual employees, holding weekly or daily meetings help to ensure everyone is doing their part and moving forward together. Providing well-defined KPIs allows remote employees to feel more satisfied with their roles and know their contributions to the company’s overall goals. 

Time Management

One of the crucial benefits of hiring virtually is increased efficiency and time management for the company as a whole. A recent Harvard Business Review study confirmed that working at home boosts productivity among workers. Along with higher productivity, the study revealed a significant decrease in sick days, far lower attrition rates, and self-reported increased job satisfaction. It is imperative for virtual workers to be motivated and informed on the company culture. Many in-office employees struggle with a work-life balance and remote working allows them to have more freedom with their free time outside of work obligations. 

In this new age of technology, working without the internet is no longer an option. Many businesses are implementing remote work in order to increase overall company efficiency and utilize all the best resources for hiring. Virtual employees experience a higher level of satisfaction from daily work, as well as increased productivity and time management.
